What AI Actually Does Well
AI genuinely accelerates the first pass of GTM planning. Market research that took a week takes an afternoon. Competitor analysis, customer personas, messaging frameworks, channel mapping — all faster, and usable as a starting point.
According to Stanford’s 2026 AI Index, generative AI has reached 53% population adoption globally within just three years of ChatGPT’s launch, outpacing adoption curves that took the personal computer and the internet far longer to achieve. Separately, 78% of organisations reported using AI in at least one business function in 2024, more than double the figure from the year before.
For GTM specifically, that adoption is accelerating. The time savings are real. But the confidence the output generates is the problem.
